Welcome to Our New Website!
January 10, 2012

The Forbes Funds is privileged to work with the nonprofit community, both in the Pittsburgh region and on the national level. Our work is a reflection of the conversations we're a part of at both of these levels. And, proudly, our new website is designed to easily facilitate the flow of valuable information from each level to the other.

As you will see, we have created some truly unique tools, organized a wealth of resources, and made it even easier to participate in the programs of The Forbes Funds.

Undoubtedly, one of the most exciting new tools is our redesigned Consultant Directory. It enables organizations to send RFPs to hand-selected groups of consultants, as well as rate and comment on the work of consultants they've used. The tool's design reflects The Forbes Funds' capacity building approach of providing nonprofits with the quality tools and resources they need to best move their organizations forward.

Our website also allows access for grantees to use the Criteria for Management Excellence (CME) designed by The Forbes Funds. This tool assesses nonprofits on 15 capacity areas and provides customized reports for each agency. Plus, the trends highlighted through the CME allow The Forbes Funds to continually shape programming to address the most pressing concerns in our sector.

Since 2002, The Forbes Funds has been commissioning research on the nonprofit sector through a series called Tropman Reports. The result, 10 years later, is a remarkable bank of useful and insightful findings. The collection of research, along with additional nonprofit management resources, is easily navigable in our Resource Library.

The website features I've described only touch the surface of what is available on www.forbesfunds.org. Our team will also be writing on the site regularly in our News & Views section about the work of The Forbes Funds, as well as regional and national developments in the nonprofit sector. All of our programming will be featured on our Event Calendar. And, of course, we look forward to keeping in contact through a number of social media outlets.

As anyone who has revamped a website knows, the launch of this new website is a celebration in and of itself. But even more so, we are excited to see how organizations, consultants, and foundations utilize all of these tools and resources to inform their own practices and create even greater impact.

With these new possibilities upon us, we at The Forbes Funds are looking forward to the challenges, rewards, and growth in 2012.
