Arts Advocates Partnering in the Community
Tuesday February 16th, 3:00-5:00 PM
We have all seen how incredibly important and difficult the role of advocacy has become in the midst of Pennsylvania's longest budget impasse. Partnerships are critical and we need to keep building them. We need a louder voice -- one that carries the voices of all of the nonprofits we represent, as well as our employees and constituents. We need a voice that says, "Pennsylvania's communities cannot afford Harrisburg's inaction."
It is a pleasure to partner with the arts community to continue to build this strong voice and be part of the GPAC Arts Advocacy 2016 session on February 16th, where we will be reviewing the Governor's forthcoming budget proposal and sharing lessons learned from the current impasse.
Presenters: Mitch Swain (Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council), Representative Jake Wheatley Jr. (PA District 19), Samantha Balbier (Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership), James McNeel (City Theatre), Mariann Geyer (Point Park University), Jenny Hershour (Citizens for the Arts in PA)
