Changes are coming to the Fair Labor Standards Act's (FLSA) regulations governing exemptions from the FLSA's minimum wage and overtime pay requirements. The proposed changes will have significant consequences for nonprofit organizations because the exemption level will be set at $50,440 or $970 per week. Changes to the "duties tests" are also anticipated. The new regulations will be released July 1st with a 60 day compliance period.
During GPNP's Public Policy Committee meeting on April 19th, Cohen and Grigsby's Rob Cottington will present the latest information about the FLSA change and answer your questions. Cottington is a Director at Cohen and Grigsby and Head of the Labor & Employment and Employment Litigation Groups.
All GPNP member organizations are encouraged to attend.
