This event is specifically designed for investment stewards of non-profit endowments and foundations and those that advise them. We will explore seven global fiduciary precepts; define who is an Investment Fiduciary and their respective roles and responsibilities, and identify best practices of investment stewards and their corresponding legal substantiation. This event also focuses on the legal requirements and corresponding best practices of investment fiduciaries as outlined in the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Uniform Prudent Investor Act (UPIA) and the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA).

Paul J. Brahim, CFP®, AIFA®- Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, BPU Investment Management, Inc.
Paul Brahim is a shareholder of BPU and the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the firm. He joined BPU in 1997 as Managing Director of Wealth Management. In that capacity, Paul led the firm’s efforts to provide comprehensive financial planning and asset management services to individual clients. He also introduced and developed BPU’s Personal Financial Education (PFE) program and was instrumental in creating the firm’s retirement plan offering. Paul was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2006, Chief Compliance Officer in 2011 and his current position in 2013. Prior to BPU, he was a Registered Representative for Allegheny Investments, Ltd. in Pittsburgh, PA and, before that, spent several years in pharmaceutical sales.
