The Forbes Funds University
The Forbes Funds and the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) have partnered to offer for-credit courses within the structure of The Forbes Funds University.
Designed to develop a strong pool of non-profit leaders and organizations in the region by supporting leadership and organizational capacity:
- Leadership Capacity – building the leadership and organizational capacity of non-profit professionals
- Organizational Capacity – building the leadership and organizational capacity of non-profit organizations
Through the initial certification pilot program, individuals at all career levels are earning a nonprofit-focused, supervision & leadership certification.
Through online course work and wrap around learning offered via The Forbes Funds, pilot participants will gain greater career mobility and access to professional development.
Practice-based Nonprofit Experience with The Forbes Funds in Spring 2021 includes a Job/Networking fair. Graduation Ceremony Summer is anticpated on 2021.

Applicants can apply on a rolling basis.
Where will courses take place?
Course sessions will be held online via Zoom.
Will I get college credits and a certificate for completing this course?
Nonprofit Professionals and Leaders will receive Supervision & Leadership Certification and college credits.
I can't afford this course. Can I apply for a scholarship?
Yes! Prospective participants may request a scholarship to cover the cost of the course by contacting Dr. Hannah here.
Hi, I am Dr. Hannah Karolak and I lead learning & education programs at The Forbes Funds. Our learning programs support current and future nonprofit leaders through coaching, mentorship, technical assistance, and professional development. Through partnerships with local universities, we are creating access to higher education for nonprofit professionals. Let me and our team of coaches support you in your journey to securing career mobility and greater leadership capacity.
Vision: The Forbes Funds learning and education programs support leaders as they navigate the changing demands of nonprofit work. Each of our learning programs include an aspect of coaching or mentorship, technical assistance, and professional development certification through digital badges, university credits, or continuous education credits. We use rapid prototyping to develop cohorts quarterly that respond to real-times needs of the sector. Through partnerships with our funders, we continue to offer these opportunities at low or no cost.
