Summary: An examination of Pittsburgh’s capacity-building industry to determine the characteristics of effective initiatives. In line with increased attention to performance of the nonprofit sector, demand for nonprofit capacity-building also intensified. This study expanded on research regarding why and how nonprofit organizations engage and build capacity, addressing factors that predict high levels of engagement in capacity-building and factors that predicted higher org capacity.
