“Workforce Strategies in Western Pennsylvania: Translating Research into Action “

Economic development, job creation, and workforce management are top priorities for Western Pennsylvania. The region’s ability to prepare the workforce to meet job needs is critical, even in times of tight budgets and scarce resources. And while many players are contributing to the workforce system, there is limited ability to measure the impact of meeting current and future workforce needs. Thus, the objective of the research efforts included in this report includes development of a comprehensive fact-base and identification of opportunities to improve. These inquiries help to identify potential strategies for bolstering the workforce in Western PA and continuing coordination of capacity-building efforts.
